Maria has been with Avalara since 2014.  She provides training, education, and support for Avalara’s sales reps, technology and reselling partners, and prospective customers on the importance of getting compliance right, even if very little retail sales tax is charged.  She also provides the same support for business license management, helping businesses with physical locations and onsite projects understand what resources they should leverage to improve their business license application and management process. 

She regularly delivers webinars, CPE courses, and training sessions for CPAs, financial application developers, web developers, finance professionals, and businesses of all kinds, on sales tax and business license compliance, how laws might apply to a business, how to avoid creating liability with tax authorities, and how implementing technology and automation is better than relying on human labor/expertise (or lack thereof) in today’s environment.
